The Organizers are looking for papers and posters addressing preferably one of the topics listed under the heading of the four major themes presented for discussion at the Conference:
- Nature and science
- Nature and culture
- Volcanoes and sustainable development
- Volcanoes and tourism

PROCEDURES
All abstracts will be reviewed by the Conference’s Scientific Committee. Accepted abstracts will be made public on the Conference’s website : www.etnacatania2009.com and included in the Conference participants kit.
Abstracts will be accepted from authors who intend to attend the Conference and present their work in either poster or oral form.
Authors are kindly requested to follow the papers and abstracts preparation and submission instructions hereby provided. Please note that abstracts length should not exceed one A4 page.
PAPERS PREPARATION
Suggested maximum length: 27,000 characters (including spaces), Font: Times New Roman, 12.pt
This is equivalent to 7 single-spaced pages. Illustrations, maps, diagrams and bibliography will be added.
ABSTRACTS PREPARATION
All abstracts must be submitted on the authorized template. Download it by CLICKING HERE. This is a Microsoft file named GCA_template.doc in which authors may copy and paste their abstracts for submission. The requested font is the same as the one suggested for the paper preparation : Times New Roman, 12pt
ABSTRACTS and PAPERS SUBMISSION
Please submit your abstract in English by Sept 30th, and your paper by Oct 15th, by Email as an attached MS Word document and send to INSULA – International Scientific Secretariat, at the following address :

POSTER AND ORAL PRESENTATION
All oral and poster presentations must be in English.
Oral presentations in the respective sessions will last 15 minutes.
Poster sessions will include a short oral presentation by the author. Ample time for debates will be ensured.
Poster presentation size should be in A0 (841mm wide and 1189 mm high).
